Mater Hospital Springfield is seeking applications for Education Coordinator – ICU/ED to join us in a permanent, part time role working 24hrs per week. Based at our Springfield campus, these roles will be part of a landmark moment in Queensland healthcare at Mater Hospital Springfield — opening early 2026. As Mater’s newest public hospital, this state of the art facility will meet the needs of the growing Greater Springfield region. With 174 public beds, ICU, maternity, emergency and surgical services, it’s set to care for over 200,000 patients annually.  

Salary range: $66.85 - $72.58 per hour plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900  + access to many staff benefits! 

What you’ll be doing

As an Education Coordinator, you’ll support the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based education that builds capability and promotes clinical excellence across Mater. You’ll work collaboratively with interprofessional teams to design, implement and evaluate education programs that align with organisational priorities. Your contribution will help empower staff to deliver safe, compassionate and high-value care.

  • Plan, develop, deliver and evaluate education and training programs to meet workforce learning needs
  • Collaborate with leaders, educators and clinical teams to support professional development and capability building
  • Incorporate evidence-based practice, simulation and innovative learning methods to enhance outcomes
  • Support graduate, transition and ongoing professional development programs
  • Identify and respond to emerging education needs aligned with Mater’s strategic and operational plans
  • Manage compliance and risk, ensure audits related to education activities are completed and endorsed recommendations implemented

About you

You are an experienced educator and clinician with a passion for developing others and improving healthcare outcomes. You bring a strong understanding of adult learning principles, leadership in education, and a commitment to evidence-based practice. Your collaborative approach enables you to build effective relationships and inspire growth in others. The ideal candidate will have:

  • Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse and/or Midwife (or relevant professional registration)
  • Postgraduate qualifications (or working towards) in education, teaching or a clinical specialty
  • Demonstrated experience in developing, delivering and evaluating clinical education programs
  • Strong communication, critical thinking and organisational skills
  • Proficiency in digital learning tools and educational technologies
  • Ability to lead and influence within a dynamic, interprofessional environment
