Mater Hospital Springfield is seeking applications for Supply Chain Operations Assistant to join us in a permanent, full-time role commencing in December 2025. Based at our Springfield campus, these roles will be part of a landmark moment in Queensland healthcare at Mater Hospital Springfield — opening early 2026. As Mater’s newest public hospital, this state of the art facility will meet the needs of the growing Greater Springfield region. With 174 public beds, ICU, maternity, emergency and surgical services, it’s set to care for over 200,000 patients annually.  

Salary range: $31.24 - $33.68 per hour plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900  + access to many staff benefits! 

What you’ll be doing

As the Supply Chain Operations Assistant, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring Mater’s supply chain runs efficiently. You’ll support the daily operations of goods receipt, storage, replenishment, and delivery — ensuring stock is available where and when it’s needed to support patient care and operational needs. Working collaboratively with colleagues and customers to maintain a safe, efficient, and customer-focused supply service. Key responsibilities include:

  • Receiving, checking, and distributing goods accurately and efficiently
  • Maintaining stock levels and ensuring correct storage and rotation
  • Supporting imprest and restocking processes to meet operational demands
  • Identifying and escalating stock or delivery issues as required
  • Ensuring all materials are handled safely and in line with Mater standards
  • Contributing to stocktake, quality checks, and process improvements
  • Providing responsive, professional service to internal customers

About you

You are a reliable and detail-oriented team player who takes pride in ensuring materials and supplies are delivered efficiently and accurately. You enjoy practical, hands-on work and are motivated by keeping operations running smoothly behind the scenes. With a strong customer service focus, you communicate well and work collaboratively to support clinical and non-clinical teams.

  • Experience in supply, logistics, or warehousing operations (healthcare experience desirable)
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in managing stock and deliveries
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Good communication and time management skills
  • Commitment to safety, quality and continuous improvement
  • Certificate II in Transport and Logistics (Warehousing and Storage) or equivalent (desirable)
  • Thrive in a fast-paced environment, take initiative to solve problems and always maintain a high standard of safety and accuracy in your work
