About the role
Join our team at Mater Health in South Brisbane as a Cook in a casual position. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to the smooth operation of our kitchen by preparing and presenting high-quality food across all meal periods.
Salary range: $34.87 - $36.55 per hour plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!
What you’ll be doing
As a Cook, you will be responsible for preparing and presenting hot and cold dishes, following standard portion sizes, recipes, and quality standards. You will maintain a clean work area, undertake kitchen cleaning duties, and ensure stock control and food safety procedures are followed. Additionally, you will work as part of a team to deliver food for patients at the highest standard.
About you
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- Current Food Safety Supervisor Certificate
- Demonstrated experience in bulk food preparation
- Ability to read and understand recipes
- Experience with cook/chill processes
- Minimum 3 years previous experience in a health or similar setting
- Proficiency in computer applications such as Microsoft Word and Excel
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
