About the role
Mater Hospital Brisbane is seeking a dedicated Administration Officer to join the Endoscopy Bookings Team in a full-time, permanent position, working across a 5-day roster, between the hours of 6am – 7pm.
Based within a high-volume, fast-paced clinical environment at our South Brisbane campus, this role plays a critical part in coordinating endoscopy procedures for public patients, supporting theatre utilisation, patient flow, and timely access to care. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to essential patient services while being part of a collaborative and purpose-driven team.
Salary range: $32.02 - $37.35 per hour plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!
What you’ll be doing
You will provide high-quality administrative support that ensures efficient booking processes, positive patient experiences, and optimal use of theatre resources.
Key responsibilities include:
- Coordinating endoscopy bookings, scheduling, amendments, and confirmations
- Managing patient communication via phone and email in a professional and compassionate manner
- Processing cancellations and replacement cases to maintain full theatre utilisation
- Performing accurate data entry, filing, scanning, and record maintenance
- Preparing and managing documentation and correspondence
- Supporting operational efficiency through timely task completion and attention to detail
- Working closely with senior administration staff, clinicians, and managers to meet service targets
About you
You are a reliable and organised administration professional who thrives in a busy healthcare environment and is passionate about delivering exceptional service.
You will bring:
- Previous experience in an administration role (healthcare experience highly regarded)
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with a patient-centred approach
- The ability to manage competing priorities and meet tight timeframes
- High attention to detail with strong data entry and record-keeping skills
- Confidence using Microsoft Office and the ability to learn health information systems
- A calm, positive, and adaptable approach in a high-volume, time-sensitive setting
