About the role
Mater Hospital Brisbane is seeking a compassionate and motivated Assistant in Nursing to join our Ambulatory & Outpatients team on a permanent, part-time (0.8 FTE) basis. The Ambulatory Care & Outpatient Clinics offers exceptional individualised care and is committed to enhancing the patient experience by providing education, information and support that is evidence based.
Salary range: $33.20 - $36.35 per hour plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!
What you’ll be doing
As an Assistant in Nursing you will work under the direction and supervision of Registered and Enrolled Nurses to provide safe, supportive, and meaningful care to patients across the Ambulatory & Outpatients service. Your day will include assisting with activities of daily living, offering emotional support, and providing one-on-one supervision where required. You will help maintain a clean and safe clinical environment, contribute to stock and equipment management, and support the smooth running of the unit through effective teamwork and communication.
About you
You will be an empathetic and proactive team member who is committed to delivering exceptional patient care and supporting a positive experience for all who visit our service. You will bring:
- Certificate III in Health Services Assistance or be actively working towards completing it
- Ability to provide compassionate support with activities of daily living
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
- Commitment to safety, infection control, and maintaining a clean clinical environment
- Ability to undertake service activities such as stock rotation, equipment cleaning, and specimen or records transport
- A genuine passion for contributing to Mater’s mission, values, and patient-centred approach
