Mater Hospital Springfield is currently seeking Casual Registered Nurses to join our growing teams across a number of clinical specialties as we prepare to open our new hospital in early 2026. This is a unique opportunity to be part of a landmark moment in Queensland healthcare, helping shape services and culture from day one.
Our casual opportunities are offered through specialty-specific casual pools, meaning you will work within your clinical area of expertise alongside dedicated teams within that department.
This state-of-the-art facility will meet the needs of the growing Greater Springfield region. With a mix of public and private beds across ICU, maternity, emergency and medical, surgical services, it’s set to care for over 200,000 patients annually.
Salary range: $41.74 - $53.53 per hour plus casual loading plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!

What you’ll be doing
As a Registered Nurse within our casual workforce, you will deliver high-quality patient care while contributing to a supportive and multidisciplinary team environment.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing safe, evidence-based nursing care to patients within your specialty area
- Advocating for patients while supporting their physical, emotional and spiritual needs
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care
- Maintaining clinical documentation and communication in line with professional standards
- Supporting a culture of safety, quality improvement and patient-centred care
- Contributing to positive patient experiences through compassionate and professional practice
About you
You are a compassionate and motivated Registered Nurse who thrives in a collaborative healthcare environment and is passionate about delivering outstanding patient care.
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:
- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse (no restrictions)
- 12 + months post graduate clinical experience within your specialty area
- Strong clinical reasoning and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Commitment to delivering safe, high-quality patient-centred care
- A proactive approach to learning and professional development
- Availability to work a minimum of 2 shifts per fortnight
