About the role

Mater is seeking a compassionate and skilled General Practitioner to join the Mater Refugee Complex Care Clinic in South Brisbane. This permanent part-time position (4 hours a week) offers a unique opportunity to deliver high-quality clinical care to people from refugee backgrounds and those seeking asylum, supporting their access to healthcare and improving health outcomes within a culturally diverse community.

Salary: Commensurate with experience plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900  + access to many staff benefits! 

What you’ll be doing
As a General Practitioner at the Mater Refugee Complex Care Clinic, you will provide comprehensive clinical care including management of acute and chronic conditions, health assessments, and complex case coordination. You will work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and community partners to support patients navigating the healthcare system. Your role will also involve utilising accredited interpreters, providing evidence-based, and contributing to continuous quality improvement within the service.

About you
To be considered for the position you should have:

  • Registered Medical Practitioner with AHPRA and FRACGP or ACRRM qualification
  • Eligible for Medicare provider number for billing purposes
  • Minimum three years’ experience as a GP, preferably with refugee or immigrant health experience
  • Skilled in working with culturally diverse populations and accredited interpreters
  • Strong communication, clinical, and organisational skills with a commitment to collaborative care
  • Knowledgeable about social determinants of health and refugee health care
  • Commitment to contribute to quality improvement and evidence informed practice
