About the role
Mater Health is a leader in clinical education and a nationally accredited, independent, hospital-based Registered Training Organisation, the only one of its kind in Queensland and a subsidiary of the wider Mater Group. Working as a member of Mater at Home and Mater’s Education team, you will collaboratively provide clinical education and support to all members of the multi-disciplinary team across Mater's clinical and non-clinical teams.
As the successful candidate, you will support Mater at Home’s education strategies to ensure staff and services are positioned to deliver the highest quality community care possible. Additionally, you will promote and implement best practice/evidence-based practice; promote critical thinking and clinical problem solving; and consistency in care delivery within a practice development and robust education model. To enable this, the position is supported by staff within the broader Mater Health Education Teams.
This position is Permanent Part-time 0.6 FTE.
Salary range: $54.44 to $58.30 per hour plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!
What you’ll be doing
As the Mater at Home Clinical Facilitator, you will be primarily responsible for supporting the professional development of the nursing team and have a commitment to education and to delivering safe, quality, evidence-based patient care. This role entails wide and diverse coordination, provision and monitoring of unit-based and organisational objectives to mandatory and role-requisite education, as well as National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards initiatives, the revision and implementation of new policies and models of care, clinical facilitation and the identification, implementation and evaluation of best practice models. You will undertake activities to ensure Mater at Home remains connected with the Mater Education team and governance systems. As Mater at Home provides care within the community, driving will be an expectation. You will also provide support for the Mater Hospital Springfield - Mater at Home team, due to commence in 2026.
About you
To be successful in the role, you will possess:
- Current and unrestricted AHPRA registration
- Minimum 2 years recent clinical experience working as a Clinical Nurse or Registered Nurse within an acute clinical setting
- Demonstrated experience in clinical facilitation or preceptorship
- High-level communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work as part of a team and independently
- Strong focus on professional self-development and that of others
