Mater Hospital Springfield is seeking applications for Administration Coordinator to join us in a Permanent, Full-time role. Based at our Springfield campus, these roles will be part of a landmark moment in Queensland healthcare at Mater Hospital Springfield — opening early 2026. This state of the art facility will meet the needs of the growing Greater Springfield region. With a mix of public and private beds across ICU, maternity, emergency and medical, surgical services, it’s set to care for over 200,000 patients annually.   

About the role 

Mater Health is seeking an experienced Administration Coordinator (MCA5) to lead and coordinate administrative operations within a ward, department or unit at our Springfield campus. 

In this role, you will provide high-level administrative leadership, support and guidance to administration staff, ensuring efficient, patient-centred service delivery. You will work closely with the Administration Manager, clinical leaders and key stakeholders to optimise resources, support financial efficiency and drive continuous improvement. 

What you’ll be doing 

  • Lead and support a high-performing administration team, fostering a positive and collaborative culture 

  • Coordinate day-to-day administrative operations, ensuring high standards of quality, accuracy and timeliness 

  • Manage rostering, resourcing and leave to ensure appropriate coverage and skill mix 

  • Provide specialist administrative advice and support to staff and stakeholders 

  • Partner with patients, clinicians and colleagues to deliver an exceptional, patient-centred experience 

  • Support operational budgets, resource utilisation and financial efficiency 

  • Drive continuous improvement and participate in change initiatives 

  • Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, WHS and mandatory training requirements 

About you 

You are an experienced administrative leader who thrives in a fast-paced healthcare environment. You bring strong organisational skills, sound judgement and a passion for developing people and improving processes. 

  • Demonstrated experience in a senior administrative or coordination role, ideally within healthcare 

  • Proven ability to lead, coach and support administrative teams 

  • Strong rostering, time management and prioritisation skills 

  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills 

  • High-level computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Outlook and Excel) 

  • Experience with healthcare information systems such as iPM and Verdi (desirable)
