Mater Human Resources is looking for a Senior Human Resources Business Partner to join the team to provide strategic, hands on people leadership across a complex and fast-paced portfolio, supporting leaders to build capability, drive engagement and lead meaningful change. This permanent, full-time role is based at our Newstead campus and will require travel to our other sites as required
This is a high impact role where you’ll partner closely with Executives and senior leaders to deliver workforce strategies that support Mater’s purpose, values and long term strategy in a challenging labour market.
Salary: Commensurate with experience plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!
What you’ll be doing
- Lead people and workplace change initiatives across a complex portfolio, supporting transformation and service evolution
- Partner with Executives and senior leaders to align People & Learning strategies with business priorities and Mater’s strategic objectives
- Design and implement workforce, organisational development and succession strategies to attract, retain and develop critical talent in a challenging labour market
- Use people data, engagement surveys and workforce metrics to diagnose issues and deliver targeted initiatives that improve engagement, performance and retention
- Coach and support leaders in performance management, remuneration, workforce planning, organisational design and effective people decision-making
- Drive leadership capability, talent management and continuous learning initiatives aligned to Mater values and culture
- Identify and support work redesign, restructuring and process improvement opportunities to improve efficiency and agility
- Collaborate with Talent, Recruitment, ER/IR and broader People & Learning teams to deliver compliant, effective and consistent people outcomes
- Influence and lead stakeholders across the organisation, providing insights and feedback to continuously improve People & Learning programs and services
About you
You will have tertiary qualification in Human Resources, Psychology, Business or a related discipline, or equivalent extensive experience. You will also meet the below criteria:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience as an HR Business Partner or extensive experience in a generalist HR role
- Proven experience managing complex employee relations matters and delivering sustainable solutions
- Strong coaching, influencing and communication skills, with the ability to engage leaders at all levels
- Demonstrated experience supporting organisational change, growth and transformation
- Ability to manage competing priorities, work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- High level of discretion, integrity and professionalism when handling confidential matters
- Strong understanding of contemporary HR, industrial and employee relations best practice
- Commercially minded with solid business and financial acumen
- Confident using HR systems, data and Microsoft Office; healthcare or hospitality experience desirable
