About the role

Mater Human Resources is excited to be recruiting two Human Resources Business Partners to join our growing team! We are offering one permanent full‑time opportunity and one full‑time, maximum‑term parental leave contract (until Sept 2026). Both roles are based at our Newstead offices, with regular time spent across our SEQ campuses. Each position will work closely with, and report to, a Senior Human Resources Business Partner.

Salary range: Commensurate with experience plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900  + access to many staff benefits!  

What you’ll be doing

Working side‑by‑side with a highly experienced Senior HR Business Partner, you’ll play a key role in delivering people strategies that genuinely move the needle. You’ll partner with leaders, collaborate with our Centre of Excellence teams, and help shape a high‑performance culture across the organisation.

No two days will look the same—you’ll be influencing leaders, solving complex people issues, contributing to organisational change, and ensuring HR delivers tangible value.

About you 

You’re an expert at building trust, solving problems, and partnering with leaders to help them shine. You bring a mix of technical HR capability, maturity, and strong emotional intelligence—and you love making things happen.

You’ll ideally bring:

  • A tertiary qualification in HR, business, organisational development, or equivalent experience built over 5+ years.
  • Experience working in a HR Centre of Excellence structure (highly beneficial).
  • Strong employee relations problem‑solving abilities that lead to sustainable outcomes.
  • Excellent coaching skills and exceptional communication—verbal, written, and interpersonal.
  • A high level of discretion, integrity and professionalism when handling sensitive information.
  • A proactive, self‑driven working style with strong attention to detail.
  • The ability to stay calm under pressure and adapt confidently to changing priorities.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence leaders, build strong working relationships and deliver trusted HR advice.
  • Sound knowledge of industrial relations, employee relations and HR best practice.
  • Experience driving organisational change, leadership capability and people‑focused initiatives.
  • Background in healthcare or other complex operational environments (advantageous).
