Mater Hospital Springfield is seeking applications for Electrician/HVAC Specialist to join us in a Permanent, Full-time role. Based at our Springfield campus, these roles will be part of a landmark moment in Queensland healthcare at Mater Hospital Springfield — recently opened in 2026. This state of the art facility will meet the needs of the growing Greater Springfield region. With a mix of public and private beds across ICU, maternity, emergency and medical, surgical services, it’s set to care for over 200,000 patients annually.

Salary range: $53.74 - $46.00 per hour plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900  + access to many staff benefits! 

What you’ll be doing

You’ll play a key role in maintaining Mater’s facilities to the highest safety and quality standards. Working as part of the Property and Development team, you’ll carry out electrical repairs, maintenance, and installation tasks to support the smooth and safe operation of Mater’s healthcare environments.

In this role, you will:

  • Perform repairs and maintenance on electrical systems and equipment across Mater facilities
  • Communicate effectively with trade managers and coordinators on daily work plans and progress
  • Support maintenance and renovation programs, providing technical input and advice
  • Participate in quoting, stock management and ordering processes
  • Provide technical guidance and supervision to apprentices and support collaborative, multi-trade teamwork
  • Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and in line with Mater’s standards and values
  • Participate in the on-call roster to provide 24-hour maintenance service when required

About you

You’re a qualified and reliable electrician who takes pride in high-quality workmanship and safe, customer-focused service delivery. You value teamwork and embody Mater’s mission of compassion, integrity, and excellence in everything you do.

You will have:

  • Certificate III in Electrical Fitter/Mechanic qualification
  • Experience in building electrical maintenance and repairs
  • Knowledge of WHS legislation and electrical safety regulations
  • A current C Class Driver’s Licence
  • Strong time management, communication, and teamwork skills
  • A commitment to Mater’s Mission, Values and Credo, ensuring respect, safety, and quality in every task
