About the role
Mater Health has an exciting opportunity for an Electronic Biomedical Technician to join our Biomedical Engineering Department based at South Brisbane, in a full-time, permanent position.
This is a critical role supporting the safe, reliable and compliant operation of medical equipment across clinical services, directly contributing to patient safety, operational efficiency and continuity of care at Mater Health.
Salary range: $39.87 - $60.43 per hour plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!
What you’ll be doing
In this role, you will provide essential technical support to clinical areas, ensuring medical equipment is safe, functional and compliant at all times. Key responsibilities include:
- Performing preventive maintenance, fault finding, repairs and safety testing of medical equipment
- Responding promptly to clinical equipment faults to minimise disruption to patient care
- Maintaining accurate service records and documentation to meet Australian Standards, TGA and accreditation requirements
- Supporting compliance audits and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives
- Liaising with clinical staff, external vendors and service contractors to coordinate equipment servicing
- Providing technical expertise across a range of equipment types and clinical environments
About you
You are a skilled and reliable technician who values patient safety, teamwork and technical excellence. To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- A relevant qualification in Biomedical Engineering, Electronics, Electrical Engineering or a related discipline
- Demonstrated experience maintaining and repairing biomedical medical equipment in a healthcare environment
- Strong working knowledge of Australian Standards, regulatory requirements and documentation practices
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
- Clear communication skills and a collaborative approach when working with clinical staff and vendors
- A commitment to safety, quality, and continuous learning
