About the role
Mater is seeking a dedicated Inpatient Billing Officer to join the team at our Newstead campus on a full-time, maximum term contract until the end of August 2026 .
Salary range: $46.96 – $51.73 per hour plus 12% superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!
What you’ll be doing
Accurate billing of patients, health funds and other third-party insurers according to relevant Health Fund Contracts to ensure maximum revenue is obtained.
Process accounts and assist with the resolution of account queries for patients and Health Funds.
Manage eclipse rejections and billing errors.
Manage requests and follow up of certification and other documentation required for health fund billing.
Follow up of outstanding debt.
Deliver exceptional customer service to internal and external clients at all times.
About you
To be successful in your application, you will have:
Previous experience of working in a health-related environment, particularly in the area of health fund contracts, debt collection or patient billing.
Knowledge of or the ability to acquire knowledge of the terms and conditions of health fund contracts
Excellent telephone and face-to-face communication skills
Ability to have complex financial conversations with patients in a sensitive manner
Ability to work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team and also work unsupervised
High attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
