About the role
The Mater Hospital Administration team has an opportunity available for an experienced Senior Administration Officer/ Ward Clerk to join their team working on our inpatients wards and other areas as required.
We have 2 positions available:
Permanent part time – 20 hours per week
Permanent full-time – 38 hours per week
Please note – both positions will require the availability to work across a 7-day work week, including late shifts (latest finish is at 9pm) and weekends.
Salary range: $39.79 - $44.25 per hour plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!
What you’ll be doing
This position is a Senior Administration Officer and your role will involve but not limited to:
Providing Exceptional Customer Service to patients and clients
Processing patient admissions, transfers and discharges and the preparation of clinical forms.
Providing administrative support to clinical staff
Maintain a high level of discretion and confidentiality, complying with administration, and financial policy and procedures, maintaining accurate, current and accessible files, including maintenance of patient records.
Continually demonstrate highly developed written and verbal communication skills.
Provide administrative assistance to other senior staff and others as requested
Exercise judgement where necessary to solve immediate problems in situations where precedents have not been set and procedures not defined
About you
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:
Highly experienced in providing medical administration support
Highly developed time management and organisational skills
Strong computer skills including competence in using Patient Administration systems (or the ability to quickly learn new systems)
Excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills
Ability to organise and prioritise work effectively within a busy, fast-paced and demanding environment
