About the role
Mater Private Hospital Townsville is delighted to offer an exciting opportunity for an experienced Registered Nurse ready to take the next step in their career. Our Perioperative Department is seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to progress into a Clinical Nurse Level 2 role, supporting our Neuro Vascular Theatre team. This is a permanent, full-time position, based at our Pimlico campus, with the flexibility to consider part-time hours (minimum 32 hours per week) for the right candidate.
The Perioperative Services department at Mater Private Hospital Townsville (MPHT) provides surgical services across 16 theatres and caters for adults and paediatrics with a variety of surgical specialities. MPHT boasts brand new state of the art theatre facilities, a catheterization laboratory, separate onsite day site surgery facilities as well as newly implemented robotic surgery involving the da Vinci Surgical System.
Salary range: $54.44 - $58.30 per hour plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!
What you’ll be doing
- Provides high quality patient care, where advanced clinical skills and knowledge underpin care coordination, collaboration, and communication for excellence in patient outcomes
- Demonstrating exceptional clinical expertise and knowledge of procedures and the management of patients seeking outstanding care
- Demonstrates leadership as a role model and clinical leader for the provision of excellence in patient care using evidence-based practice and professional commitment.
- Implementing strategies to ensure that quality and risk management are integrated into service provision
- Positively influences others to identify and act in accordance with clinical and organisational best practice.
- Working collaboratively with the perioperative team to provide exceptional care every time
- Maintaining current knowledge and skills to ensure continued professional growth
About you
- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse (no restrictions)
- More than 3 years’ experience as a scrub scout nurse
- Strong knowledge of ACORN & NSQHS Standards
- Experience initiating and leading quality & safety projects
- Experience with conducting and interpreting audit data and implementing actions
- Knowledge of key change management principals
- A strong work ethic, positive attitude and willingness to role model and promote the Mater values
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to liaise with a variety of different stakeholders both internally and externally at various levels
- Demonstrated ability to operate both in a team environment and autonomously using initiative, sound reasoning and strong listening, negotiation and decision-making skills
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
