About the role
Mater Group Finance is seeking an experienced Senior Accounts Payable Officer to join our high-performing Accounts Payable team in this permanent, full-time opportunity based at Newstead.
Reporting to the Accounts Payable Team Leader, you will manage a designated functional stream, ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant processing of financial transactions across the Mater.
Salary range: $93,103 - $102,572 per annum plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!
What you’ll be doing
This is a leadership-focused role where you will mentor team members, resolve complex transactional issues, and contribute to process improvement initiatives. You’ll also play a key part in system testing, audit readiness, and embedding change initiatives. Key responsibilities include:
Lead and coordinate a functional stream within the AP team
Provide guidance and mentoring to team members
Manage end-to-end AP processing and resolve complex issues
Drive continuous improvement, automation, and digitisation initiatives
Participate in system upgrades and user acceptance testing
Maintain strong stakeholder relationships and deliver exceptional customer service
About you
To be successful in this role, you will have a minimum 5 years’ experience in Accounts Payable functions.
Minimum 3 years in a team leader or senior Accounts Payable role
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Advanced Microsoft Excel and Word skills
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
Knowledge of GST, accrual accounting, and reconciliations
Exposure to large, complex organisations (health sector desirable)
