About the Role

We are seeking a passionate Senior Women’s Health Physiotherapist to join our Physiotherapy team at Mater Private Hospital Townsville. This permanent part‑time role based at our Pimlico campus, offers 15 hours per week, with flexibility to increase hours as activity levels grow.

In this senior role, you will deliver high‑level, independent physiotherapy services across women’s health, obstetrics and pelvic health. You will provide clinical leadership within your specialty area, work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams, and lead quality improvement initiatives that enhance patient outcomes and service delivery. This role supports both inpatient and outpatient services, including antenatal education and weekend services as required, and contributes to the broader women’s health caseload.

Salary range: $64.64 - $69.55 per hour plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900  + access to many staff benefits! 

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Delivering advanced, evidence‑based physiotherapy care to women across obstetrics, pelvic health and gynaecology settings
  • Providing independent clinical judgement in inpatient, outpatient and group education environments
  • Leading and contributing to quality improvement and service development initiatives
  • Supporting multidisciplinary decision‑making through effective communication and collaboration
  • Contributing to the development and review of clinical practices, procedures and protocols
  • Providing high‑level clinical advice to senior managers within your specialty area
  • Supervising, mentoring and supporting junior physiotherapists, allied health assistants and students
  • Participating in clinical governance, accreditation, risk management and WHS activities
  • Acting as a role model and assuming in‑charge responsibilities when required

About You

You are a passionate and experienced women’s health physiotherapist who thrives in a leadership role and is committed to delivering compassionate, high‑quality care aligned with the Mercy mission.

You will bring:

  • AHPRA registered Physiotherapist as recognised by the Australian Physiotherapy Council
  • Postgraduate qualifications or demonstrated advanced training in women’s health and pelvic health physiotherapy
  • A high level of clinical expertise in women’s health and pelvic health physiotherapy
  • Strong communication, leadership and conflict‑resolution skills
  • A proactive approach to quality improvement and service innovation
  • The ability to work autonomously while contributing positively to multidisciplinary teams
  • Personal attributes aligned with our Physiotherapy Department values – solution‑focused, resilient, flexible and positive
  • A commitment to ongoing professional development and evidence‑based practice
