About the role
Mater Private Hospital Bundaberg is currently seeking experienced Enrolled Nurses to join our teams across the Medical, Surgical and Rehabilitation units. We offer excellent flexibility, with opportunities ranging from Permanent Part-Time (0.6 FTE) through to Full-Time. Choose the arrangement that best suits your lifestyle! To be considered for this opportunity, this role requires participation in a 24/7 rotating roster including morning, afternoon, and night shifts.
Mater Bundaberg is a 59-bed facility comprising both surgical and medical/rehabilitation units. Our Surgical Ward manages a diverse range of cases including orthopaedics, gynaecology, general surgery, and ENT procedures. Our Medical/Rehabilitation Ward supports patients across the acute and sub-acute spectrum, providing comprehensive care tailored to individual recovery needs.
Salary range: $35.92 - $38.21 per hour plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!
What you’ll be doing
Provide patient-centred nursing care within scope of practice under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse
Support patients with activities of daily living
Contribute to assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care in collaboration with the Registered Nurse
Assist in the development, implementation, and review of care plans and clinical pathways
Collect, document, and report accurate information on patients’ health and functional status
Recognise and promptly report changes in patient condition to the Registered Nurse
Deliver safe, effective clinical care in line with care plans and professional standards
Organise and prioritise workload to support planned nursing care, adjusting priorities as required
Provide comfort, support, and education to patients and their family/carers, respecting cultural and spiritual values
Ensure communication, documentation, and reporting are timely, accurate, and support therapeutic outcomes
About you Ideally you will have a prior comparable experience as an Enrolled Nurse in a hospital or aged care facility.
Current registration as an Enrolled Nurse (Division 2) with APHRA
Minimum of 1 year experience working as an Enrolled Nurse
Experience in an acute hospital setting desired but not essential
Medication administration education that ensures exclusion of Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency notation
Proven clinical competency and the ability to maintain the highest standards of nursing care
Effective communication and clinical problem-solving skills to maximise patient care and outcomes
Knowledge and commitment to continuous improvement of health care and nursing practice
Demonstrates a collaborative and engaging approach to teamwork and the ability to work within the multi-disciplinary team
