About the role

An exciting opportunity is available for an Enrolled Nurse to join the Mater Cancer Care Centre (MCCC) at Mater Hospital South Brisbane on a maximum term, part-time contract (24 hours per week) for 12 months.

This role plays a vital part in supporting public outpatient clinics and Fast Track services, helping to ensure seamless clinic flow and high-quality, compassionate care for patients receiving oncology, haematology and palliative care services.

Salary range: $35.93 - $38.21 per hour plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900  + access to many staff benefits! 

What you’ll be doing

In this role, you will support the delivery of safe, patient-centred care within a busy outpatient environment. Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing delegated nursing care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, aligned with professional standards and scope of practice
  • Preparing and supporting public outpatient clinics and Fast Track services to ensure efficient patient flow
  • Undertaking comprehensive nursing assessments and implementing evidence-based interventions as delegated
  • Coordinating clinic appointments and supporting smooth clinic operations through effective communication and organisation
  • Contributing to clinic room preparation, infection control practices, and resource efficiency
  • Advocating for patients and supporting education, discharge planning, and informed consent processes

About you

You are a compassionate and capable Enrolled Nurse who thrives in a fast-paced clinical setting and values teamwork. You will bring:

  • Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia
  • A minimum of two years’ experience in Oncology, Haematology, or Palliative Care (essential)
  • Demonstrated competency in CVAD assessment and management
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and organisational skills
  • The ability to prioritise workload effectively while delivering high-quality, patient-centred care
  • A collaborative approach and commitment to Mater’s Mission, Values, and behavioural standard
