Mater Hospital Springfield is seeking an experienced Obstetrics and gynaecology (O&G) full-time Sonographer for a permanent, position in the new Maternal Fetal Medicine department. Based at our Springfield campus, these roles will be part of a landmark moment in Queensland healthcare at Mater Hospital Springfield — opening early 2026. This state of the art facility will meet the needs of the growing Greater Springfield region. With a mix of public and private beds across ICU, maternity, emergency and medical, surgical services, it’s set to care for over 200,000 patients annually.

Salary range: $73.12 - $76.30 per hour plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900  + access to many staff benefits! 

What you’ll be doing

As a Sonographer, you will be responsible for performing diagnostic Obstetrics and gynaecology ultrasound examinations with the utmost professionalism and competency and completing a comprehensive examination for each patient in a timely manner as required. The role also involves teaching ultrasound skills to new staff and medical officers as required.

About you

To be eligible for this position you must possess and demonstrate in the application:

  • ASAR accredited post graduate qualification in medical ultrasound
  • Accreditation with ASAR as a Medical Sonographer
  • Extensive experience in obstetrical and gynaecological ultrasound examinations
  • Evidence of effective communication, initiative and clinical problem-solving skills to maximise patient care
  • Ability to work as a leader and team member within a multi-disciplinary health care team
  • Clinical teaching skills in Obstetrics and gynaecology ultrasound
