About the role

Mater Health Brisbane has an opportunity for an Administration Coordinator to join the team in a permanent full-time basis, 38 hours per week. This role will support the specialist clinic reception teams managing 25-30 staff across multiple reception spaces at South Brisbane.

Salary range: $54.57 - $59.38 per hour plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900  + access to many staff benefits! 

What you’ll be doing

  • Recruit, onboard, lead, coach and provide regular feedback to new team members to promote a high performing team
  • Manage and develop strategies to address issues, conflicts and facilitate a recognition and reward program within the team
  • Coordinate and manage effective rostering within the work unit, ensuring correct skill mix and cover is provided in line with the appropriate Enterprise Agreement and budgetary constraints
  • Responsible for coordinating the operational budget, resource assets and leave requirements for strong financial performance
  • Manage compliance and risk, in part by ensuring direct reports fulfil mandatory and professional competency requirements, that audits are completed in a timely manner and endorsed recommendations implemented and that risks / incidents assigned to the administration unit receive prompt and effective action
  • Manage and responsible for team operations in line with business requirements, exercise judgement and initiative in problem identification and resolution
  • Apply lateral thinking to solve problems, identify alternatives, taking into consideration appropriate procedures, precedents, rules or guidelines

About you

  • Possess a high level of knowledge and extensive experience in a complex administrative environment, particularly in healthcare, to provide specialised administrative support in a fast-paced setting
  • Demonstrate proven experience in managing and leading a team, preferably within the medical / healthcare professions
  • Experience working in patient facing roles would be highly favourable.
  • High-level ability to balance conflicting demands efficiently within tight timeframes, demonstrating excellent time management and prioritisation skills
  • Sound experience in change management with the ability to lead and implement change in line with best practice change processes, adapting to evolving requirements as necessary
  • Sound ability to manage a team and autonomously make decisions, with strong collaboration skills ability to adapt to a changing environment
