About the role

Mater Administration Services currently has a permanent part-time (22.5 hours per week) opportunity for a Senior Administration Officer to join the team. This role will see you supporting the Infusion Service and Neuro Private Wards at Mater Public Hospital Brisbane. This position is available Monday to Saturday, with 8-hour shifts. Work hours are between 7am-5pm.

Salary range: $39.79 – $44.25 per hour plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900  + access to many staff benefits! 

What you’ll be doing

In this essential role will see you provide exceptional administration support to the clinical team and patients. 

Key responsibilities in the role will include (but are not limited to):

  • Manage, organize and provide confidential administrative support to the department ensuring areas are efficiently managed, representing Mater with strong customer focus to staff, patients and visitors
  • Ability to respond competently in emergency situations, remaining calm and composed and to ‘think on your feet’
  • Performing administrative functions as required, in accordance with departmental policies and procedures working closely with the Nursing Unit Manager and Clinical Team
  • Ensure effective, accurate and timely communications with staff and clients, communicating with sensitivity and discretion
  • Provide accurate data entry using various network-based information systems to effectively manage patient admissions, discharges and transfers in a timely and accurate manner
  • Carry out other administration functions as directed by your Team Leader/Manager
  • Exercise judgement where necessary to solve immediate problems in situations where precedents have not been set and procedures not defined 

About you

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:

  • A high level of customer service with strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven ability to deliver efficient and effective administrative support in a timely and organised manner
  • Confidence communicating with staff at all levels, as well as patients and visitors
  • High attention to detail and accurate data entry skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office and departmental databases and software systems
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise effectively in a busy, fast-paced environment
  • The ability to work both independently and collaboratively as a senior member of a high-performing team
