About the role
The Mater Hospital Brisbane has an exciting opportunity available for an experienced Senior Administration Officer to join our Specialist Clinic reception team on a permanent full-time basis, 38 hours per week at our South Brisbane campus.
The role is Monday to Friday between the hours of 7am-5pm.
This is a pivotal frontline role that anchors the smooth operation of a busy clinic environment, supporting patient flow, operational efficiency, and high-quality care delivery. You will work collaboratively with clinical and administrative teams to ensure every patient experience is seamless, professional, and patient-centred care.
Salary range: $39.79 - $44.25 per hour plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!
What you’ll be doing
- Providing outstanding customer service to patients, families, and stakeholders
- Updating patient demographics to ensure accurate and timely documentation
- Processing patient transfers and discharges, including preparing clinical forms
- Producing reports to ensure clinics are finalised
- Supporting clinical staff with high-level administrative assistance
- Maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive information with professionalism
- Ensuring patient records are accurate, current, and well maintained
- Assisting senior staff and team members as required
- Using initiative and sound judgement to solve problems when procedures aren’t clearly defined
About you
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:
- Experience in providing medical administration support would be an advantage
- The ability to utilise time management and organisational skills
- Accurate data entry
- Strong computer skills including competence in using Patient Administration systems (or the ability to quickly learn new systems)
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to organise and prioritise work effectively within a busy, fast-paced, demanding environment
