About the role
The Mater Private Hospital Redlands' Perioperative Department is searching for an experienced, enthusiastic and energetic Scrub/Scout Clinical Nurse within theatres.
This position will be offered on a permanent full-time or part-time (minimum 32hours per week) basis. Flexibility is required as you will be required to work a range of shifts Monday to Saturday plus participate in the on-call roster.

Mater Private Hospital Redland has been supporting Brisbane's Bayside community since 2000 and is Redland Shire's only private hospital facility. Located in the suburb of Cleveland, the 60-bed hospital features 2 operating theatres and a wide range of specialised surgical and medical services, from women’s health and urology through to ophthalmology, neurology and orthopaedics.
Salary range: $54.45 - $58.30 per hour plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!
What you’ll be doing
Our Perioperative Clinical Nurses provide additional leadership and advanced clinical competency to support our Nursing team at the Redland campus. You will use your extensive experience to mentor mentorship and guide the professional growth of less-experienced nursing team members, Supporting the Nurse Manager you will at times act as Floor Coordinator and undertake performance improvement and education activities.
Whilst displaying the highest level of clinical standards for the unit you will be responsible for:
- Achieving optimal patient outcomes throughout the patient journey and continuum of care
- Developing excellent working relationships with Surgeons
- Leading, training and supporting the orthopaedic team
- Performing scrub scout duties on other lists as required
- Demonstrating advanced clinical expertise to provide patients outstanding care
- Engaging in risk management processes
- Maintaining current knowledge and skills to ensure continued professional growth
About you
You will be driven by a challenging yet rewarding environment where you can bring your energy and experience to this dynamic ward.
- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse (no restrictions)
- Extensive experience as a Scrub/Scout Registered Nurse across other specialties
- A strong work ethic, positive attitude and willingness to role model and promote the Mater
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to liaise with a variety of different stakeholders both internally and externally at various levels
- Demonstrated ability to operate both in a team environment and autonomously using initiative, sound reasoning and strong listening, negotiation and decision-making skills
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
- Commitment to ensuring the levels of service is delivered to patients at all times
