About the role

Mater Mothers has an opportunity for an Administration Coordinator to join the team in a permanent full-time basis, 38 hours per week. This role will manage business and administration functions for Pregnancy Assessment Centre, Admissions and Birth Suites, including managing 25-30 Senior Administration Officers, in South Brisbane.

Salary range: $54.57- $59.38 per hour plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900  + access to many staff benefits! 

What you’ll be doing

In this pivotal role, you’ll provide expert administrative management, lead day to day operations, and ensure exceptional service for patients, families and staff.

As a key leader within the administration team, you will:

  • Manage 24/7 workforce planning and rostering within allocated FTE, balancing emergent and planned leave
  • Drive workforce performance and capability through structured PDPs, quarterly check-ins and proactive behavioural and performance management
  • Provide financial stewardship through expertise in funding classes and inpatient/outpatient streams, team education, auditing processes and collaboration with Business Services to protect revenue
  • Champion operational excellence by leading process improvements, maintaining data and activity quality standards, and strengthening stakeholder relationships to support integrated, high-quality service delivery
  • Working closely with the Administration Manager, you’ll help align administrative operations with broader organisational goals, ensuring resources are used effectively and key performance targets are met

About you

  • Demonstrate proven experience in managing and leading a team, preferably within a healthcare setting
  • Tertiary qualifications in business related or human behaviour discipline highly regarded but not essential
  • Strong ability to manage competing priorities under tight timeframes, demonstrating excellent time management and autonomous decision making
  • Experience leading and implementing change in line with policy and best practice, adapting to changing demands
  • Strong understanding of Medicare eligibility and private health insurance is desirable
