About the role

Mater Hospital is currently seeking applications for Assistants in Nursing to join our Central Nursing Office (CNO) on permanent part-time and full-time basis'. These positions are located at the South Brisbane campus.

The suitable candidates will be required to work varying shifts in the hospital, across a 24/7 period. Full availability (AM, PM and Night Duty) across seven days is required to be considered for this position.

What you’ll be doing

As an Assistant in Nursing, you will work under the direction and supervision of Registered and Enrolled Nurses to provide safe, supportive, and meaningful care to patients. Your day will include assisting with activities of daily living, offering emotional support, and providing one-on-one supervision where required. You will help maintain a clean and safe clinical environment, contribute to stock and equipment management, and support the smooth running of the wards through effective teamwork and communication.

Salary range: $33.20 - $36.35 (AIN) plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900  + access to many staff benefits! 

About you

To be considered suitable for the AIN position, you will:

  • Have a Certificate III in Health Services Assistance or extensive previous experience working as an AIN
  • Flexibility to perform in various wards, adaptability to seamlessly integrate into different teams and work under different NUMs
  • Full, consistent and flexible availability
  • Demonstrated ability to work well within a multidisciplinary team
  • Basic computer skills and proven ability to use health information systems
