We're thrilled to offer a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated Food Services Team Leader to become a key part of our department on a permanent, full-time basis.
Salary range: $41.60 - $45.81 per hour plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!
What you’ll be doing
The Team Leader at Mercy Food Service oversees the daily operations and distribution activities at the Rockhampton site, ensuring services run efficiently and meet high standards of quality and customer focus. The role provides leadership to Food Service Assistants, Administration staff and Drivers, supporting smooth workflows, effective rostering and a safe, well organised workplace. Working closely with the Corporate Chef, the Team Leader supports strategic decision-making, contributes to continuous improvement initiatives, and ensures services align with Mater’s mission, values and organisational goals.
The Team Leader manages key areas such as compliance, risk management, stock control, staff development and budget monitoring. The role ensures mandatory training and safety requirements are met, supports continuous improvement, and helps maintain reliable, high quality foodservice delivery across all Mercy Food Service customers.
About you
You will have two (2) years’ experience in a leadership or supervisory position.
- Current (within the last 5 years) Food Safety Supervisor Certificate.
- Demonstrated understanding and knowledge of contemporary kitchen operations with a strong customer service focus.
- Demonstrated ability to review and analyse data and report against budget.
- Knowledge of risk management and required safety standards.
- Proficient in the application of computerised information systems and applications including Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Experience with the food service software CBORD is beneficial, but not essential
- Demonstrated ability in organisational rostering and management of staff
