About the role
Mater South Brisbane is seeking a committed Allied Health Assistant to join our Mater at Home team based at the South Brisbane campus. This role is full-time and for a fixed term until 30th June 2027.
The purpose of this role is to deliver a quality clinical community service to the Mater at Home client population, as part of a multidisciplinary team. The role will directly report to the Mater at Home Physiotherapy Clinical Lead, and indirectly to the Operations Manager – Allied Health, of Mater at Home.
Salary range: $34.87 - $36.55 per hour plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!
What you’ll be doing
The purpose of the position is to deliver competent and professional assistance to clients, families, clinicians and care providers. Key tasks will include:
- Delivery of clinical services under the supervision of an allied health clinician.
- Facilitation of an individual or group program with clients in their home or at a community-based centre.
- Communication with the treating clinician to ensure an understanding of program requirements and reporting on outcomes of visits.
- Review of equipment prescribed to the client, ensuring it is working correctly and the client is using safely.
- Supporting a multi-disciplinary team with clinical administrative duties; and
- Supporting allied health clinicians by preparing and maintaining equipment and resources for clinical care.
About you
To be successful in this role you will have:
- A current open or provisional driver’s license, valid for use in Queensland.
- Have the ability to obtain a Working with Children Check (Blue Card) and an NDIS Worker’s Screening Check (Yellow Card).
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Experience in community-based allied health assistance is desirable but not necessary.
While no mandatory formal qualification is required, a Certificate III or IV in Allied Health Assistance is desirable.
