About the role 

Mater Research are looking for a Research Assistant in the Genesis Research Group to join the team! This fixed term, part-time role will be based at our South Brisbane campus.

What you’ll be doing 

As a Research Assistant, you will provide general administrative and trial support across the Genesis Research Group’s programs to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the team’s activities, under the trial coordinator’s guidance, maintaining compliance to regulatory standards. This role includes assisting with:  

  • trial documentation and follow up of participants,  

  • relevant meetings including agendas and minutes, 

  • assistance with ethics and governance documentation & 

  • performing clinical tasks appropriate to the applicant’s scope of practice and experience. 

About you 

You will be an organised and motivated individual with a passion for contributing to impactful research. To succeed in this role, you will bring: 

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications and work experience; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training 

  • Experience providing support, including a proven capability to operate effectively in a complex work environment 

  • Experience in a broad range of IT platforms 

  • Proficiency in general office administration, including scheduling, record-keeping, and providing administrative support 

  • Experience with meeting coordination, including creating agendas and minute taking 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills 

  • Ability to problem solve in a fast paced environment, with the ability to prioritise tasks and exercise initiative and judgement as appropriate 

  • Ability to independently prepare correspondence and documents to a high standard, with a high degree of accuracy and excellent attention to detail 

  • Strong interpersonal skills, including a capacity to network widely and build effective relationships
