About the role
Mater is seeking an experienced Senior Administration Officer to join Catherine’s House at Mater Hospital Brisbane on a maximum-term contract (3 months) working 30.2 hours per week . The role is worked Monday to Friday during daytime hours only, with no night or weekend shifts, offering excellent work–life balance.
This is a unique opportunity to be part of a world-class perinatal and infant mental health service, supporting mothers, babies and families through an integrated inpatient, outpatient and community model of care. You will play a key role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day administrative operations of this highly specialised and compassionate service.
Salary range: $39.79 - $44.25 per hour plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!
What you’ll be doing
Supporting, planning and coordinating effective administration systems across Catherine’s House
Providing professional, compassionate customer service to patients, families and multidisciplinary teams
Managing patient information with accuracy, discretion and confidentiality
Working collaboratively within a small administration team, including providing leave cover as required
Operating across a Monday to Friday roster between 6:00am and 6:00pm
Using patient administration systems, Microsoft Office and data entry tools to support clinical and operational needs
Contributing to a safe, high-quality and welcoming environment aligned with Mater’s Mission and Values
About you
Demonstrated experience in an administrative support role, ideally within a healthcare or patient-facing setting
Excellent customer service, communication and interpersonal skills
Strong administration and organisational skills in a fast-paced environment
High attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality at all times
Confidence working independently while also contributing positively to a small, close-knit team
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and patient information systems
Flexibility, adaptability and a willingness to support service needs as they evolve
