About the role

Join as a full-time Business Analyst on a maximum-term contract of 6 months at our Newstead location, supporting a Service Management (ITSM) tool replacement initiative.

In this role, you will be a key contributor to the review, redesign, and implementation of Mater Group’s service management processes and enabling technology. You will work closely with ICT teams, clinical and corporate stakeholders, vendors, and governance bodies to ensure the new platform aligns with organisational standards, service management best practice, and Mater’s strategic objectives.

Salary range: $62.74 - $67.20 per hour plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900  + access to many staff benefits! 

What you’ll be doing

As a Business Analyst at Mater, your responsibilities will include:

  • Lead analysis activities to support the replacement and optimisation of Mater’s service management platform, including Incident, Request, Problem, Change, Asset, and Knowledge processes.
  • Elicit, document, and manage business and functional requirements across ICT and business stakeholders.
  • Analyse current-state (“as-is”) service management processes and design future-state (“to-be”) processes aligned to ITIL / service management best practice.
  • Facilitate workshops, interviews, and walkthroughs to validate requirements, process designs, and solution options.
  • Support vendor evaluation, solution design, and configuration decisions, ensuring alignment with Mater standards and governance requirements.
  • Contribute to change impact assessments, transition planning, and implementation activities.
  • Assist with the assessment and implementation of new ICT requests as directed by the ICT Governance Committee.
  • Investigate operational issues and improvement opportunities, recommending effective solutions across people, process, and technology.
  • Support data-related activities including data migration, data quality, and structure definition (e.g. service catalogues, CMDB, asset data).
  • Provide clear documentation and guidance to technical teams, vendors, and stakeholders throughout the delivery lifecycle.

About you

Seeking a proactive and detail-oriented individual ready to excel in the role of Business Analyst at Mater, we are looking for someone with:

  • Strong experience as a Business Analyst, particularly in process improvement, system replacement, or large-scale ICT initiatives.
  • Tertiary courses in information technology, information systems, business management, commerce or corporate systems support (desirable).
  • Diploma in IT or a Diploma of Business Studies or equivalent (desirable).
  • Healthcare business process improvement experience is desirable. 
  • Demonstrated experience working on or supporting ITSM / service management platforms (e.g. ServiceNow, BMC, Ivanti, Cherwell or similar).
  • Solid understanding of service management concepts (Incident, Request, Change, Problem, Asset, Knowledge); ITIL knowledge or certification is desirable.
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and documentation skills, with high attention to detail.
  • An intermediate to advanced level of skill with appropriate computer-based tools
