Mater Hospital Springfield is seeking applications for Data Quality Officer to join our Information Management Team in a permanent, full-time role. Based at our Springfield campus, these roles will be part of a landmark moment in Queensland healthcare at Mater Hospital Springfield — opening early 2026. This state of the art facility will meet the needs of the growing Greater Springfield region. With a mix of public and private beds across ICU, maternity, emergency and medical, surgical services, it’s set to care for over 200,000 patients annually.
Salary range: $46.96 - $51.73 per hour plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!
What you’ll be doing
In this role, you will support the integrity and reliability of Mater’s clinical and operational data through the following activities:
- Reviewing, cross-referencing and validating patient data across hospital information systems
- Identifying and resolving inaccurate, incomplete or inconsistent data in a timely manner
- Performing data remediation activities to ensure high-quality patient and activity data
- Identifying and resolving duplicate patient registrations, in a timely manner
- Supporting statutory and regulatory reporting requirements through data validation processes
- Monitoring, evaluating and promoting data quality and patient identification standards across systems and workflows
- Maintaining accurate records of data quality activities and updates
- Collaborating with administrative and clinical teams to address data quality queries and issues
- Contributing to the review and improvement of system procedures and documentation related to data standards
About you
To be successful in this role, you will bring strong attention to detail, excellent organisational skills and experience working with healthcare data systems. You will demonstrate:
- Experience working in a healthcare environment in a data-related or information management role
- Experience using hospital patient administration, clinical or health information systems
- Demonstrated experience performing data quality activities within health information systems
- Excellent attention to detail with strong data verification and data entry skills
- Ability to apply quality assurance processes to ensure data accuracy and integrity
- Strong time management and organisational skills with the ability to meet deadlines
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills to support collaboration across teams
- Ability to work independently while contributing positively within a team environment
