About the role
Mater Private Hospital Mackay are seeking an experienced Clinical Nurse to join our Palliative ward on a permanent part-time basis.

Salary range: $54.44 - $58.30 per hour plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!
What you’ll be doing
As a Clinical Nurse, you’ll play a key leadership role in delivering high-quality, patient-centred care. You will use your advanced clinical skills and knowledge to support patients, guide nursing teams, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure best practice and positive health outcomes. You’ll contribute to clinical education, mentor junior staff, and lead by example in maintaining professional standards and improving service delivery.
Key Position Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality patient care using clinical nursing skills and knowledge, supporting optimal outcomes through evaluation, collaboration, and communication.
- Apply advanced clinical and problem-solving skills to manage patient care needs and promote the best possible outcomes.
- Collaborate with patients, families, and the multidisciplinary team to ensure patient-centred care.
- Support the Nurse Unit Manager with recruitment, induction, and team management activities in line with organisational policies.
- Maintain safe practices, accurate documentation, and participate in professional development and quality initiatives.
About you

To be successful in this position, you will have:
- Current AHPRA registration with no practice restrictions
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a ward-based nursing role
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and clinical problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Demonstrated commitment to continued quality improvement and best practice principles
