About the role
Mater Human Resources is seeking an experienced HR Systems Administrator (UKG/Kronos Workforce Central) to join our HR Systems team.
Offered as a full-time, fixed term contract (12 months), this role plays a key part in supporting, maintaining and optimising our Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS) to ensure they meet business needs and deliver a great experience for our people.
Reporting to the Manager, HR Systems, the HR Systems Administrator contributes to the smooth operation, continuous improvement and strategic development of Mater’s HRIS ecosystem. You will work collaboratively with internal users, technical teams and external vendors to ensure system reliability, functionality and ongoing enhancement.
Salary range: $108,207 - $117,732 per annum plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!
What you’ll be doing
- Plan, develop and maintain system releases—including fixes, enhancements and version updates.
- Manage system setup, configuration and security, including user access and permissions.
- Ensure the HRIS remains aligned with current and future organisational and legislative requirements.
- Collaborate with internal and external suppliers to maintain system availability, performance and reliability.
- Identify, analyse and troubleshoot system issues and faults.
- Provide responsive phone and face‑to‑face support to HRIS users across the organisation.
- Assist with developing support materials such as cheat sheets, user guides and training documentation.
- Support the coordination and delivery of training sessions.
- Provide advice to users, management and system suppliers.
- Monitor and maintain system processes, system-to-system interfaces, and scheduled or ad hoc actions.
- Identify and deliver opportunities to enhance system ease-of-use and efficiency.
- Develop and maintain procedures and guidelines relating to HRIS operations.
- Monitor system security access, review system logs and evaluate system outputs.
- Adhere to ITIL-aligned change management and incident management processes.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
- Develop and maintain regular and ad hoc HRIS reports.
About you
You will have experience with UKG/Kronos Workforce Central Version 8.1.6, including system configuration, maintenance, troubleshooting, and performance monitoring. You will also meet the below criteria:
- Pay Rule Configuration expertise, including creation, modification, and testing of pay rules, work rules, labour levels, pay codes, and related compliance settings.
- Advanced Schedule Configuration, including schedule groups, shift templates, schedule patterns, coverage rules, and forecasting impacts.
- SQL experience, including writing queries, performing data extraction, troubleshooting data issues, and supporting integrations.
- Knowledge of WFC job scheduling, interface management, and workflow processes.
- Understanding of timekeeping principles, award interpretation, and payroll dependencies.
- Strong understanding of authentication methods (e.g., LDAP, SSO, Active Directory).
- Ability to monitor system performance, logs, and automated processes.
- Experience with file transfers (SFTP/FTP), APIs, or data exchange processes.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex configuration or system issues from root cause through resolution.
- Experience supporting end users, HR/Payroll teams, and operational managers.
- Ability to document system configuration, processes, and change controls.
