About the role

Mater Hospital South Brisbane has 3 x Clinical Facilitators to join the team within Emergency and ICU on a permanent full-time basis, 38 hours per week.

We have 2 x Clinical Facilitators ICU. 1 x Clinical Facilitator in the Emergency Department. Please clarify on your application form which role you’re applying for.

Salary range: $54.45 - $58.30 per hour plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900  + access to many staff benefits! 

What you’ll be doing

  • Provide expert clinical guidance, mentorship, and support to staff, with a focus on Emergency Department and ICU practice and patient flow
  • Plan, develop, deliver, and evaluate evidence-based education and professional development programs relevant to ICU and emergency care.
  • Identify and address learning needs to enhance clinical knowledge, skills, and behaviours in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
  • Support staff to work to their full scope of practice and deliver safe, high-quality, person-centred care in alignment with ICU and Emergency Department priorities
  • Collaborate with Nurse Unit Managers, Area Managers, and Education Coordinators to align education activities with ICU and Emergency Department and organisational priorities
  • Incorporate simulation, assessment, and other contemporary learning methodologies, including scenarios relevant to emergency presentations and escalation of care
  • Support students and early career clinicians during placements and transitions to practice, particularly within the ICU and Emergency Department setting
  • Participate in research, evaluation, and quality improvement initiatives that enhance clinical education and patient outcomes
  • Actively contribute to the implementation of change, innovation, and evidence-based improvement initiatives across Mater Health

About you

  • Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse (or Registered Nurse/Midwife)
  • Minimum five years’ clinical experience in ICU and/or Emergency
  • Demonstrated experience in clinical facilitation, supervision or education
  • Ability to develop, implement and evaluate clinical learning programs
  • Strong communication, coaching and feedback skills
  • Proven ability to prioritise, organise and manage competing demands
  • Capacity to work collaboratively and independently within a dynamic environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 and ability to learn new systems quickly

Desirable:

  • Postgraduate qualifications in ICU and/or Emergency, Education or relevant specialty (or working towards)
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (or enrolled)
