About the role Mater Hospital Brisbane is currently looking for Quality and Safety Associate based at our South Brisbane campus. This is a maximum term contract until June 2027, worked minimum 0.8 (30 hours per week) up to full time (38 hours per week).
The Quality and Safety Associate will report to the Hospital Quality and Safety Manager and as part of the team, aid the clinical department managers in Quality and Clinical Safety Management and accreditation preparation across the hospital/service.
Salary: Commensurate with experience plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!
What you’ll be doing
Provide leadership and support to Hospital/Service Quality and Safety Manager and clinical department managers for implementing quality and risk management systems
Assist in incident and complaint investigation and coordinate actions to prevent recurrence
Collect and analyse patient safety and clinical outcome data for quality and safety system effectiveness
Support the Hospital/Service Quality and Safety Manager in monitoring compliance with policies and implementing corrective actions
Coordinate the implementation of recommendations from root cause analysis or other reviews with Hospital Executive
Stay updated on new best practices related to quality and safety from literature and professional organisations
About you
Ideally, you will also have at least 5 years frontline clinical experience and intermediate Microsoft Office skills. Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline.
Demonstrated experience in developing working relationships to achieved identified outcomes and an ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
Ability to provide empathetic communication in difficult situations
Demonstrated knowledge of and experience in health service delivery with appropriate clinical knowledge, experience and skills is essential including a basic understanding of care processes provided in multiple areas of the hospital
Demonstrated experience or a willingness to gain an understanding of quality improvement initiatives and their practical application
Demonstrated experience or a willingness to develop analytical skills to trend and interpret data and provide reports on data / information used for projects, evaluation and process improvement activities
