About the role

Mater Private Hospital Brisbane is seeking experienced Senior Administration Officers to join the Mater Private Admissions Team. We currently have three opportunities available: one maximum term contract until August (38 hours per week), one permanent part time (36 hours per week) and one permanent part time (32 hours per week).

The roles operate on a 7-day roster, including public holidays, with shifts between 5:30am and 8:30pm. We require full availability for shifts.

This is a pivotal frontline role that anchors the smooth operation of a busy clinical environments, supporting patient flow, operational efficiency, and high-quality care delivery. You will work collaboratively with clinical and administrative teams to ensure every patient experience is seamless, professional, and patient-centred care.

Salary range: $39.79 - $44.25 per hour plus superannuation andaccess to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900  +access to many staff benefits! 

What you’ll be doing

  • Providing outstanding customer service to patients, families, and stakeholders
  • Updating patient demographics in IPM to ensure accurate and timely discharge documentation
  • Processing patient transfers and discharges, including preparing clinical forms
  • Supporting clinical staff with high-level administrative assistance
  • Maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive information with professionalism
  • Ensuring patient records are accurate, current, and well maintained
  • Assisting senior staff and team members as required
  • Using initiative and sound judgement to solve problems when procedures aren’t clearly defined

About you

  • Experience in providing medical administration support would be an advantage
  • The ability to utilise time management and organisational skills
  • Accurate data entry
  • Strong computer skills including competence in using Patient Administration systems (or the ability to quickly learn new systems)
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to organise and prioritise work effectively within a busy, fast-paced, demanding environment
