About the role
Mater Private Hospital Brisbane has a very exciting opportunity for Registered Nurses in a permanent full-time capacity or part time capacity in our Neuro/Medical/Cardiac Ward. This is a 22 bed ward which cares for patients who have undergone neurosurgery and cardiac procedures along with medical neurology and general medical patients.
Salary range: $41.74 - $53.53 per hour plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!
What you’ll be doing
Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans for patients
Monitor patients before, during, and after procedures, ensuring their safety and comfort
Administer medications, manage IV lines, and assist with various diagnostic and interventional procedures
Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards
Undertake comprehensive discharge planning to ensure patients and their support persons, where applicable and appropriate, are provided with adequate support through the provision of education, resources and proper community services access
Offering support and guidance to colleagues and nursing students, drawing upon your wealth of experience and knowledge to foster growth and excellence within the team.
Delivering and evaluating evidence‑based nursing care within your scope of practice
Advocating for patients through education, informed consent, and shared decision‑making
Promoting a safe, respectful, and supportive clinical environment that upholds patient dignity, privacy, and wellbeing
Adhering to Infection Prevention and Control standards and safe clinical practices
Complying with organisational policies, procedures, and clinical guidelines
About you
Current AHPRA registration (without restriction)
Minimum 12 months post graduate nursing experience
Preferable experience in medical, neuro, cardiac or surgical.
Consistent availability to complete shifts at short notice
Commitment to excellence in nursing practice and professional development
Demonstrated ability to work well within a multidisciplinary team
Basic computer skills and proven ability to use health information systems
