About the role

The Mater Private Hospital Redlands' Perioperative Department is searching for an experienced, enthusiastic and energetic Registered Nurse to join us on a maximum term contract for 12 months, 28 hours per week. Flexibility is required as you will be required to work a range of shifts Monday to Saturday plus participate in the on-call roster.

Mater Private Hospital Redland offers the opportunity to be exposed to different areas of Redlands Mater Private Hospital and gain valuable experience. Mater Private Hospital Redland has been supporting Brisbane's Bayside community since 2000 and is Redland Shire's only private hospital facility. Located in the suburb of Cleveland, the 60-bed hospital features 3 operating theatres, 2 endosuits and a wide range of specialised surgical and medical services.

Salary range: $41.74 - $53.53 per hour plus superannuation andaccess to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900  +access to many staff benefits!  

What you’ll be doing

As a Registered Nurse, you will provide patient-centred nursing care in collaboration with other health professionals and significant others to ensure safe, efficient, and effective patient management within the Day Surgery Ward.

Key responsibilities and duties include:

  • Achieving optimal patient outcomes throughout the patient journey and continuum of care
  • Demonstrating exceptional clinical expertise and knowledge of procedures and the management of patients seeking outstanding care
  • Implementing strategies to ensure that quality and risk management are integrated into service provision
  • Working collaboratively with the nursing team to provide exceptional care every time
  • Maintaining current knowledge and skills to ensure continued professional growth

About you

To be successful in this position, you will possess:

  • Currently AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse (no restrictions)
  • Demonstrated nursing experience within a Day Surgery or perioperative setting or have transferable skills that can be developed with professional training
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and clinical problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Demonstrated commitment to continued quality improvement and best practice principles
  • Be an Australian Citizen, Australian Permanent Resident or have a perioperative ANMAC occupation code for sponsorship purposes
