About the role
Mater Private Hospital Brisbane is seeking applications for the position of casual Hospital Steward. As a Hospital Steward you will be expected to demonstrate the Mater Values while providing a support service to our staff, patients and their families.
Salary range: $32.02 - $34.52 per hour plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!
What you’ll be doing
Patient transport
Waste and Soiled Linen Management
Escorting discharged patients to their vehicles
Location and movement of equipment
Checking and replenishing of medical gases
Providing assistance with patient manual handling
Restocking and general tidying in departments
Assist with emergencies
Bed moves
This varied and fast paced role will require you to be physically capable of transporting and moving/turning patients, as well as moving equipment.
About you
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Proven ability to prioritise tasks effectively
Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team
Proven ability to work within established guidelines, policies & procedures
Ability to respond to requests in a quick, calm and caring manner
Basic computer skills
Contribute positively to the team culture
In addition, you will demonstrate a strong commitment to providing support to all patients, visitors and staff.
You will possess a positive attitude, motivated work ethic and a dedication to delivering compassionate, exceptional care to our patients and their families.
