About the role
Mater Health is seeking a dedicated Administration Officer to join our Administration Services team at the South Brisbane campus on a casual basis.
Join a busy and dynamic day procedure environment where your organisational skills and patient-first approach will make a real difference. In this role, you will support the efficient running of the unit while helping create a welcoming and positive experience for patients, their families, and clinical staff.
Salary range: $32.02 – $37.35 per hour plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!
What you’ll be doing
You’ll provide high-quality administrative support that underpins safe, efficient, and patient-centred care within the unit, including:
Coordinating patient bookings, admissions, discharges, and related documentation
Providing reception support, including patient check-ins, health fund verification, and payments
Maintaining accurate records and data within hospital information systems
Supporting clinical staff with timely administrative assistance and information flow
Managing filing, correspondence, and record management in line with policy and compliance requirements
Contributing to smooth daily operations by identifying and resolving administrative issues promptly
Working collaboratively with the broader Administration Services team to support service delivery and patient experience
About you
You are a proactive and organised administrator who takes pride in delivering excellent service and supporting others to do their best work, and you will bring:
Previous administrative experience, ideally within a healthcare or clinical environment
Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities efficiently
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient-centred approach
Confidence using Microsoft Office and health information systems (or similar)
The ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
