About the role

Mater Private Hospital Bundaberg is delighted to offer an exciting career advancement opportunity for an experienced Registered Nurse! Our inpatient Surgical Ward is seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to step into a Clinical Nurse Level 2 role within our team. 

We offer excellent flexibility, with opportunities ranging from Permanent Part-Time 0.8FTE through to Full-Time. Choose the arrangement that best suits your lifestyle! To be considered for this opportunity, this role requires participation in a 24/7 rotating roster including morning, afternoon, and night shifts.

Mater Bundaberg inpatient department is a 59-bed facility comprising both surgical and medical/rehabilitation units. Our Surgical Ward manages a diverse range of cases including orthopaedics, gynaecology, general surgery, and ENT procedures. Our Medical/Rehabilitation Ward supports patients across the acute and sub-acute spectrum, providing comprehensive care tailored to individual recovery needs.

Salary range: $57.48 - $61.55 per hour plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900  + access to many staff benefits! 

What you’ll be doing

Your responsibilities will include providing individual care for patients who have experienced or are at risk of experiencing adverse cardiac events. You will also be responsible for delivering high-quality clinical nursing services and associated programs to meet the evolving needs of our patients.

Whilst displaying the highest level of clinical standards for the unit you will be responsible for:

  • Achieving optimal patient outcomes throughout the patient journey and continuum of care
  • Demonstrating advanced clinical expertise and knowledge of procedures and the management of patients seeking outstanding care
  • Supporting the Nurse Unit Manager in implementing strategies to ensure that quality and risk management are integrated into service provision, along with staffing within budget requirements
  • Maintaining current knowledge and skills to ensure continued professional growth

About you

  • Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA
  • Experience working as a nurse on either a medical or surgical ward
  • Post Graduate certificate is desirable not essential
  • Demonstrated ability to plan and coordinate patient care and competency in clinical problem solving
  • Available to work across all shifts
  • Demonstrated competency in written and verbal communications and the ability to maintain accurate clinical and assessment data 
  • A strong work ethic, positive attitude and willingness to role model and promote the Mater Values
