About the role
Mater Private Hospital Bundaberg is seeking Allied Health Assistants' to join our Allied Health team on a casual basis.
The Allied Health Assistant works as a member of a multidisciplinary team by carrying out clinical support tasks delegated under the direct or indirect supervision of an Allied Health professional. The position supports the delivery of clinical services across the hospital by performing delegated roles within medical, surgical and rehabilitation wards including administrative support as required.
Mater Private Hospital Bundaberg has been caring for the people of Bundaberg and surrounds since 1946. Our 59-bed facility is dedicated to supporting our community to live happy and healthy lives. The Allied Health team manage a clinical load including inpatient medical, orthopaedic, surgical, rehabilitation and palliative patients, and are involved in pre-admission and post-operative management of elective orthopaedic patients.
Salary range: $34.87 - $36.55 per hour plus casual loading plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!
What you’ll be doing
Deliver patient care under the direction of Allied Health professionals including group and individual sessions
Contribute to patient records according to organisational guidelines and legal requirements
Maintain unit equipment and stock including coordination of the purchase and trial of equipment, maintenance of stock levels, cleaning and maintenance of treatment areas including reporting and following up faults
Assist with personal care, patient handing and transport of patients
Administrative assistant duties as required
About you
Relevant qualification (i.e. Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance or equivalent) or willingness to work towards a relevant qualification.
Advanced communication skills, including the ability to communicate with clients, carers and service providers and respond to competing demands.
Flexibility – able to adapt to changing priorities throughout the day
Excellent standard of customer service.
Demonstrated experience working in a patient environment (with inpatients, day patients, or outpatients).
Ability to actively participate in a team.
High level of computer skills.
Highly competent organisation and time management skills.
