About the role

Mater Health is excited to be seeking applications for our 2027 Registrar Obstetrics & Gynaecology/Advanced Trainee program. Mater Mother’s Hospital is seeking a number of exceptionally talented and enthusiastic 5th and 6th trainees for the following roles.

  • Senior Registrar South Brisbane
  • Senior Registrar Springfield
  • Advanced Gynaecology
  • Gynaecology Oncology
  • High Risk Obstetrics Mater/QE2
  • Flying Obstetrics and Gynaecology
  • MFM Focus  

Please note you will be required to select which program you are interested in.

Salary: Commensurate with experience plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900  +access to many staff benefits! 

What you’ll be doing

Mater Mothers Hospital is a premier women’s health facility and Queensland’s largest maternity care provider, delivering more than 11,00 babies every year.  Mater serves as a referral centre for complex obstetric and MFM cases and is also the state’s largest provider of publicly funded gynaecology services.   Mater is excited to be able to offer a number of unique and highly competitive advanced training positions, with different sub-specialty focuses, commencing 2026.  The successful candidates will have the opportunity to grow their tertiary-level Obstetrics skills as well as enhance their vaginal, open and laparoscopic portfolios, all while working as part of a supportive and collaborative interdisciplinary team. 

About you

This Advanced Training role would ideally suit a Senior Registrar intending to pursue a career in general obstetrics and gynaecology and is specifically targeted at Level 5/6 trainees. The successful applicant may wish to undertake the Generalist Gynaecology ATM, the Colposcopy ATM and/or Hysteroscopy/Laparoscopy ATM. Trainees who have completed their core training requirements are encouraged to apply. Experienced core trainees considering moving interstate will also be considered.
