About the role
Mater Private Hospital is currently recruiting for an experienced and motivated Registered Nurse to join our medical ward 8 South. This ward has a keen focus on patient experience and host’s a range of patients including Medical, Cardiac and Respiratory. This opportunity is a maximum term position for 12 months, 32 hours per week.
You will be able to work a mixture of 8-hour and 12-hour shifts, and it is a requirement that you are available to work mornings, afternoons, nights, and weekends.
Salary range: $42.99 - $55.14 per hour plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!
What you’ll be doing
Joining a busy department that is led by a passionate and innovative Nursing Manager who strongly encourages professional development. Whilst maintaining the highest level of clinical standards for the unit you will be responsible for:
Delivery of exceptional patient care, demonstrating a level of skill in clinical decision making and hands-on caregiving for a range of acute cardiac, vascular and medical conditions (including post intervention)
Deliver appropriate and accurate application of clinical assessment procedures to evaluate medical health status to identify and apply timely care intervention for best patient outcomes
Team leading when required
Implementing strategies to ensure that quality and risk management are integrated into service provision
Maintaining current knowledge and skills to ensure continued professional growth
Working with and supporting colleagues within a highly effective skilled team environment
Demonstrating a capacity to adapt to innovative models of care and service provision
About you
To be considered for this position, you must have:
Current AHPRA nursing registration as a Registered Nurse (no restrictions)
Considerable demonstrated experience in an acute medical ward
Proven clinical competency and the ability to maintain the highest standards of nursing care
Effective communication and clinical problem-solving skills to maximise patient care outcomes
Knowledge and commitment to continuous improvement of health care and nursing practice
