About the role
Mater Private Hospital Brisbane has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Registered Nurse to join our Perioperative Theatre team as a Scrub/Scout on a casual basis .
This is an excellent opportunity to work in a contemporary perioperative environment that supports complex surgical care, professional growth, and exceptional patient experiences. Salary range: $41.74 - $53.53 per hour plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!
What you’ll be doing
As a perioperative Registered Nurse, you will play a key role in delivering safe, efficient, and patient-focused care within the operating theatre. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will contribute to positive surgical outcomes while maintaining the highest standards of clinical practice.
Key responsibilities include:
Providing expert scrub and scout nursing care across a variety of surgical procedures
Delivering holistic, patient-centred care with consideration for physical, emotional, and individual patient needs
Maintaining compliance with infection control standards, clinical policies, and safety protocols
Working collaboratively with surgeons, anaesthetists, and perioperative colleagues to support seamless theatre workflows
Contributing to quality improvement initiatives and promoting a culture of safety and continuous improvement
Supporting a positive team environment that reflects Mater’s Mission, Values, and commitment to excellence
About you
You are a confident and capable perioperative nurse with a strong foundation in scrub and scout practice, who enjoys working in a fast-paced theatre setting and takes pride in delivering high-quality patient care.
You will bring:
Current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse
A minimum of four years’ post-graduate experience working as a scrub/scout Registered Nurse
Demonstrated ability to practice independently within the perioperative environment
Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across disciplines
A commitment to patient safety, professional standards, and ongoing learning and development
