About the role
Mater Health is seeking a Respiratory Advanced Trainee to join our team from September 2026 till the 31st of January 2027. This is a maximum-term, full time role based at our South Brisbane Hospital.
Salary range: Commensurate with experience plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!
What you’ll be doing
As an Advanced Trainee (Registrar) in Respiratory Medicine, you will:
Deliver high-quality inpatient and outpatient respiratory care
Provide consultative services across hospital departments
Work under supervision while progressively developing clinical autonomy and specialist expertise
Contribute to education, research, and the supervision of junior medical staff
This role forms part of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP) advanced training pathway, supporting you to complete specialist qualification requirements.
About you
You are a driven and capable medical professional who demonstrates:
Strong clinical knowledge and safe practice across a range of medical conditions
Commitment to ongoing education, research, and evidence-based medicine
Excellent communication, teamwork, and leadership skills
A proactive approach to professional development
Medical degree eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Queensland
Minimum 3 years’ post-intern experience in internal medicine or related fields
Eligibility for RACP Advanced Training
Completion of RACP Primary Exam (or substantial progress)
