About the role
Mater is seeking a Team Leader within our Protective Services team based at our South Brisbane campus. This is a permanent full time, 38 hours per week.
As the Team Leader of Protective Services, you will be responsible for high level safety and security across the Mater Hospitals to ensure the safety of all persons and property by patrolling campus grounds and ancillary buildings and undertaking appropriate action as per relevant guidelines and protocols in the event of a security breach.
Salary range: $38.01 - $41.57 per hour plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!
What you’ll be doing
Provide support and leadership to Protective Services Officers to develop them in their performance of day to day activities to build a strong team environment with shared goals
Provide subject matter advice to key stakeholders on issues impacting on Mater and other stakeholders service delivery due to portfolio’s business operations
Recommend new procedure and approaches to safety and loss prevention based on reports of incident accidents and other relevant information
Support the management of compliance and risk, in part by ensuring that audits are completed in a timely fashion and endorsed recommendations implemented
Identify, investigate and refer fraudulent or criminal activity within Mater. In the absence of the Manager, Protective Services, provide sensitive information and reporting as collated to support investigation by internal and/or external authorities
Guides, coaches and provides rapid, respectful, constructive feedback to team members in relation to their performance and behaviour
About you
Hold a current Security Officer / Crowd Controller Licence (mandatory)
Certificate 3 Security Operations / Guarding (desirable)
Fire Safety Advisor certification (preferred)
Minimum 5 years in Protective Services/Security positions overseeing staff
Current Driver’s License
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
High Customer service orientation and a proven ability to build strong client and customer relationships
Team Leader/ Co-ordinator experience in similar role (desirable)
Knowledge of risk management in accordance with AS/NZS ISO 31000:2009 Risk (desirable)
