About the role

Reporting to the Chief People, Culture and Learning Officer, this is a unique opportunity to shape the remuneration strategy of one of Queensland’s most iconic healthcare organisations.
We’re seeking an experienced Remuneration & Benefits Lead to design Mater’s reward framework including supporting policies and procedures and influence how the approaches work across our healthcare organisation.
This role will suit a Business Partner with a strong specialisation in rem frameworks or a career reward specialist ready to step into a leadership role and own the function. You’ll be someone who balances rigour and detail with purpose, and strong governance with pragmatism.
Salary: Commensurate with experience plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!
What you’ll do as our Remuneration & Benefits Lead
- Design and evolve Mater’s enterprise remuneration strategy, ensuring it is competitive, market-aligned and purpose-led
- Establish and maintain job architecture and market benchmarking using Korn Ferry data and contemporary frameworks
- Lead the annual remuneration review cycle and provide insights to inform Executive and Board decision-making
- Champion pay equity, compliance and transparency across a large and complex workforce
- Shape a compelling total rewards offering that strengthens Mater’s Employee Value Proposition
- Act as a trusted advisor on remuneration strategy, market positioning and benchmarking
About you
You are an experienced remuneration or total rewards professional — or a Business Partner with deep reward expertise — who thrives in complex environments and enjoys influencing at senior levels.
You bring:
- Deep expertise in remuneration and reward frameworks, combined with strong commercial and analytical capability
- Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and deliver strategic, evidence-based advice
- Strong governance mindset with sound judgement in complex environments
- Relevant tertiary qualifications, and alignment to Mater’s Mission, Vision and Values
- Korn Ferry and healthcare/NFP experience will be advantageous
